OK alot of people say undocument students do no deserve to be citizens. But think about the fact that alot of these students were brought since they were 3 years old., They did not know better. Do not punish the children for the sins of there parents. Also what if the illegal students is doing so well in school pure A's lets say and the one with the citizenship fails and drops out. I think that with the right documents the illegal students will go far.
Alot off you also say no opportunity for the people that broke the law. Well then For every person that was caught drunk driving, stealing a liquor store or any other criminal history shoul have there citizenship should be taken away.
For those of u who r against the Dream Act. Put yourself in the student's shoes. What if it was u. YOu do so well in school top in your class. then at the end all your dreams are broken because you are not a citizen. Just because you were not born in the US. Babies cannot decide were to be born.

I didn't see a question in there at all, but a statement of opinion. And I read the entire opinion.

And I'm sorry but I do NOT support the Dream Act. I have a sense of empathy for the children brought here, no question. But illegal is illegal, and the passage of the Dream Act would do nothing but ENCOURAGE more illegal immigration because parents would do this to benefit their children.

Illegal is illegal. ANd the sins of the father are visited upon the children. If there is anyone to blame, blame the parents who chose to commit a criminal act and who chose to make criminals out of themselves and the children they bring into the US outside of our laws.

Sorry. Its just the way it has to be. Dream Act has failed three times now. Americans are vehemently against amnesty in any form. Disrespect and disobey our laws? There should be NO reward for this whatsoever.

I'm sure that you're sincere and that your non-question is heartfelt. It's doubtful, though, that you'll find much support for your idealogy around here.

"...Babies cannot decide were to be born..."
No, but their parents can so it's their responsibility to make the right decisions to insure their child's well-being. There is NO rational reason why Americans should be expected to sacrifice their own well-being and that of their country because the poor people of Mexico came into the U.S. illegally. If they do so then at the very least they should practice effective birth control.

"...Do not punish the children for the sins of there parents..."
And especially don't punish Americans.

"...Also what if the illegal students is doing so well in school pure A's lets say and the one with the citizenship fails and drops out..."
Then the illegal student with the A's should take his education back to Mexico where it might just do some good.

The dream act does more than protect kids who were brought here as babies and grew up in USA.
It gives anyone who gets a H.S. diploma a wavier on illegal activity. That is wrong on two tracks - what, really, is the value of a HS diploma these days - you showed up and didn't drop out....
The second problem with the dream act is that it ultimately rewards illegal behavior. Mom and Dad get a kid into the US, remain illegally, and kid is rewarded with citizenship for completing the free education- so therefore can sponsor Mom and Dad - where is the incentive for M&D to do the LEGAL thing and return home?

The problems of those children rest on the shoulders of the parents that put them in this situation. If they are so smart then maybe they should go back to where they came from and try to improve their own country. It is not our responsibility to ecucate them. If a citizen breaks the law then they will face up and pay the fines or do the jail time. The people here illegally dont want to face up to the consequences of the crime committed.

I think a lot of Americans believe that, despite the fact that you were always an A student, you were using THEIR tax dollars to even be going to school. It's the fact that your parents took advantage of resources that they had no right to use by putting you in an American school.
Though it was not YOUR fault, I think tax-paying American citizens have every right to be upset.

I would rather use the dictionary's definition of illegal and the Federal Government's rule's defining illegal immigration. If they want to be here they should do it the legal way. Your arguement makes no sense at all.
