Headache, nausea...especially nausea, dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound, sleepiness, vomiting.

The only real way to cure it is to wait it out. Some people say coffee will help, but usually it doesn't...the combination of coffee and alcohol just makes you really thirsty.

A hangover is the sickness from being sober after drinking. Some people get it, others don't, and it depends on how much alcohol was consumed.
Some people wake up in the morning from night drinking with a headache and/or nausea.
No cure. Either don't drink yourself sick or rest it off.

No one knows exactly why we get hangovers, but it is due to overdrinking. Some experts say that it is a combination of dehydration (people urinate a LOT while consuming so much) and the body ridding itself of the toxins.

Symptoms...severe headache, sleepiness, nausea, general malaise.

How to cure it? Drink tons of water, fruit juice and other liquids to flush out the remaining toxins.

Some folks say that "hair of the dog" (another drink of alcohol) gets rid of the symptoms, but it doesn't...all it does it prolong them.

Aspirin or tylenol helps a little with the headache, but the real cure is to wait it out.

A hangover occurs after you've drinken way too much.

Your body is sick, you feel nauseas. You'll throw up, have dyharria, feel like your going to die (depending on how much you've drinken). You'll get a bad headache, and when you wake up, you probably won't remember most of it.

Theres no way to cure it, but things that help are: drink lots of water. Water makes you pee, which helps get rid of the alchohal faster. Sleep it off, that way you dont feel the pain as much. Ead bread, because you need something in your system besides the achohal.

Hangovers are multi-causal. Ethanol has a dehydrating effect by causing increased urine production (such substances are known as diuretics), which causes headaches, dry mouth, and lethargy. Dehydration causes the brain to shrink away from the skull slightly (responsible for the headache). This can be mitigated by drinking water or an oral electrolyte solution after consumption of alcohol. Alcohol's effect on the stomach lining can account for nausea. Because of the increased NADH production during metabolism of ethanol by the enzymes alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase, excess NADH can build up and slow down gluconeogenesis in the liver, thus causing hypoglycemia.

Another factor contributing to a hangover are the products from the breakdown of ethanol via liver enzymes. Ethanol is converted to acetaldehyde by the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase, and then from acetaldehyde to acetic acid by the enzyme acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. Acetaldehyde (ethanal) is mildly toxic, contributing to hangover. These two reactions also require the conversion of NAD+ to NADH. With an excess of NADH, the lactate dehydrogenase reaction is driven to produce lactate from pyruvate (the end product of glycolysis) in order to regenerate NAD+ and sustain life. This diverts pyruvate from other pathways such as gluconeogenesis, thereby impairing the ability of the liver to supply glucose to tissues, especially the brain. Because glucose is the primary energy source of the brain, this lack of glucose contributes to hangover symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, mood disturbances, and decreased attention and concentration.

The most commonly reported characteristics of a hangover include headache, nausea, sensitivity to light and noise, lethargy, dysphoria and thirst.

You cannot cure a hangover. The best remedy is to drink water to hydrate your body and restore liquids.

headaches. the reason for you head hurting in the morn. is dehydration, your brain actually shrinks some during a hard night of drinking. So drink a lot of water.

eat bananas, there is a major loss of potassium when drunk.

take a multivitamin when u wake at like 4 or 5 in the morn. with more water then go back to bed. You should do better than without these things

No cure exists really but drink plenty of water and/or fruit juice as most of the symptoms are down to dehydration.

Then get some sleep - lots and let your body do it's thing.

The best way to avoid it though is to not drink alcohol - I quit about ten months ago and am now fitter, slimmer and have more money in my wallet.
