It's a experience you'll never forget, and will give you a great appreciation for other cultures also. It is a great idea and everyone should go once. You'll never forget it. Have fun.

The Louvre is good if it's raining AND you love art AND you like being crushed half-to-death by hordes of Japanese and Chinese tourists. Otherwise the art collection is a bit of a let-down - the Egyptian collection of stuff that Napoleon brought back is great though.
The Musée d'Orsay is a lot more accessible and the art is more to my taste. Got to get there early in the day, well before opening time as the queues can be enormous. May be best to buy a ticket to see whatever special exhibition is on at the time; there are fewer people and you can go around the main collection when you have finished the special one.

I have been to Paris, I have been to the Louve, and the Musee d'Orsay, and the thing that I loved was how romantic the view is and how the art is reflecting so many expressions.

Ever heard of the Mona Lisa? It belongs to the Louvre and is called La Gioconda on the postcards. Beware that all museums close on Tuesday in Paris, 52 times a year.
Check their website for changes
BTW, get customs to stamp your passport. They try to get you to go through without it so that all your TAX FREE, DUTY FREE purchase money stays in France with no refund check in the mail.
Tell everyone on the plane, too. You will see one or more of them on the trip back and they will thank you.

Correction to the person who said that all museums close on Tuesdays. This is not correct: Musee d'Orsay is closed on Mondays and open on Tuesdays.
