I have a job interview tomorrow...is it okay to wear nice matching trousers with a blazer, or is it a skirt only still? It has snowed about 9 inches here in the Denver area in the last two days and I just am not up to the whole skirt thing ...but I'll do it if I have to. I'm an RN and the interview will be with another female; I talked to her on the phone and she is a typical annoying overtalkative recruiter and will probably be very sharply dressed herself.

Wear the suit. You want to dress to impress but be comfortable as well. Besides, you want to spend more time thinking about those interview questions rather than what you are wearing. Just don't wear any red, especially with a female interviewing you. Red is a power color and shows dominance, something other women subconsciously don't like to see on another woman. GOOD LUCK!!!

Until very recently it was against the rules, skaters who wore pants in competitions would lose points for wearing an inappropriate costume. Even now some judges will deduct points for pants, although that is slowly changing. The truth is that audiences and judges like female skaters to be girlie girl types; they get marked higher in competitions, they get more training money, they are asked to do more appearances in more competitions, the system prefers little ice princesses is sparkling dresses. it's slowly changing in the more athletic pairs and the more technically difficult dance -both encourage more expressive costumes including pants, while womem's singles is still stuck in a rut with the little dresses.

As long as you are dressed neatly and appropriately, the focus of the interview should be on your skills, not how stylish you are. I know that's an aspect of some jobs, but in health care it's just not an issue.
Actually, if it was me interviewing you and you wore a skirt in that kind of weather I might wonder if you weren't very smart!

Oh most definitely!! Who said you MUST wear skirts, on interviews or anytime?! A suit looks professional whether it has a skirt or pants. So go for it.... and good luck on your interview!

A skirt will look more feminine but if it is too cold for one then go ahead and wear pants. Just make sure that they are ironed and neat and look nice.

Wear pants. if there is a an expectation of women to only wear skirts than you have to help break that expectation,

Ofcourse you can , I think a matchingblazer & pants look wonderful together. A lot of women wear trousers&a matching blazer. For example:

I don't know how it is in the US, but in Hungary, if there's thick snow, nobody would object if you wore a trouser suit.
