I have never seen a chicken as large as a turkey even a small turkey tends to be 10 to 12 pounds as a large roaster chicken is usually 4 to 6 pounds unless you are only roasting the turkey breast and even then you can tell the difference as the breast won't have wings and legs as the chicken does.

what? are you serious?small turkeys are 15 to 17 pounds, big leg bones
chicken is 5 to 10 pounds ,even if the chicken was a giant at 15 pounds and the turkey was small at 15 pounds .....duh!!!
the chicken would look like a steroid monkey and the turkey would look like some anorexic model
look at the drum sticks ,different sizes completely

OK...this isn't as obvious as one thinks....say you have a slice of breast from each bird....on first inspection...they aren't many differences.....turkey does tend to be a bit dryer, but is usually overcooked by organism fearing people & overzealous cooks. The taste is the big difference, with turkey having a slightly stronger & sometimes faintly "gamey" flavor, usually offset by spices. If you had the dark meat however, turkey dark meat is darker in color, richer in taste & a bit stringier in texture....

Turkey's taste is much different (and smells different too). Chicken is less lean, smaller and cannot substitute a New Year's eve or Thanksgiving turkey!

They smell and taste different. Turkey tastes a bit stronger - more gamey. Turkey also has darker meat on the leg.
Chicken produces more fat, so will be moister than turkey if the turkey hasn't been well basted.
