No I have a much better solution. Let him buy you a drink then you drink it. The next one he buys you take it and sell it for a discounted price to someone in the bar. Come back with the empty glass and thank him while boasting on how great it was and how another would just do the trick. Continue until you get the amount of booze and money you need. Hopefully by then he will me matching you drink for drink and he will be sloshed and you will only be buzzin.
At this time you can slip your hand into his wallet and take a small bonus for yourself. I know what you are thinking and NO it inst wrong! He would have spent it on you anyway right?! Right! Now go get em' mimi!

dress up attractively but appropriate maybe look charming but sexy. Then when a suitable buy tries to get you a drink just let it out as a confident joke or a line-retort as you make eye contact and give him a seductive smile. that would work for me... plus later on you could have lots of fun with him too. Just don't be serious about it. in the morning, find volunteer work which offers stipends or honorariums to tide you over while you're between jobs. keep busy k?

No offense, but if times are hard, then you might want to reconsider heading to a bar where you will be spending a decent amount of money. OR, if you do decided to go to the bar, take the guys offer on the drink. No guy is ever going to say "Hey, you look nice, can I give you $5?" It's a gesture...one that you can choose to take or not.

Why not just work a few hours more a week instead of letting off the air that you're so desperate? What you're really saying when you ask for the money instead is that you'd rather have 5$ than the chance to talk to him...a total insult to the guy.

Drink his drink and ask for money. Don't forget to get an extra $5 for gas money home.

You need to spend alot more time in the Etiquette section of Yahoo! Answers. Of course you can't ask for the money instead. That is so gauche. My dear, why don't you just let the gentleman know you will work for cash, if you get my drift and skip the drinks.

Oh oh..I dont think men would offer money instead of the drink either..so have some food instead, and maybe if there is left-over which is untouched then take it home..coz life is hard..better than taking the money..that's awful!!!you just rated yourself below zero then!!never!

i would agree with Leslie and say you don't want to take any money from a guy but u could tell him to just give the money to the bartender for a tip they have to put up with all those guys all night and i would think that gets old fast i did like your question and i stared it

Asking for the money is pretty rude. It's like asking for the receipt when you get a gift. If you don't drink, you can just say "thanks, but I don't drink" and leave it at that. But if you're going to a bar and asking for cash what exactly are you offering in return?
