I have no idea what a "jag" is and couldn't really understand the rest of your post. I definitely wouldn't buy a puppy from a stranger. Can you afford to get it spayed/neutered, shots, tested for diseases? For around $100 you could adopt a puppy from a shelter and all of that would be included. If this puppy ends up sick (VERY likely from backyard breeders) you not only could end up spending a lot on vet bills but even end up with a dead puppy. So definitely "walk".

I would walk away.
First if it's in the USA most states have laws about sellling pups and that includes that they have shots up to date and wormed.
A pup usually gets it's first shots between 6 and 8 weeks old and then get shots every 3 weeds so this pup should already have atleast 2 shots. You will be buying a dog with barely if any antibodies or immunity to fight off anything. You can be taking a very big chance and I would suggest if you do get this pup to take it home and not let it out even for a walk until it gets all 3 booster shots. that means he will be in your house until he is about 4 months old.
I would not suggest training him to go outside since he could get parvo, distemper or any of the other diseases they are vacinated for.
You also need ot be careful of people including yourself bringing anything into your house as well.

I would walk away.. if he couldnt afford to get the pup shots over xmas, he shouldnt have got the puppy!

The pup may have already been exposed to something, and has no immunity built up to protect it.. Even parvo can incubate in the body for up to 10 days.. the stress of a new home can cause any incubating diseases to take over.

Walk away, the puppy should have had 2 vaccinations by the time he is 11 weeks of age. Who knows how the poor thing has been cared for, you might be buying a horribly expensive mistake.

It would be worth having a dog as a part of your family. As they say, dogs are man's best friend.
With the right training and lots of love, the dog will grow to love you back and its useful to have them around when you are feeling a bit down.
Maybe you won't get another chance of getting another dog, so take chances and don't regret anything.
Money will always be there, so go on and buy it!

when you're 100% sure that you want an animal...that's when you should get one..if you're already questioning the funds..then hold off and think about it for a bit...
