My great aunt is one of these. She thinks it's okay to talk down to someone just because they're a teenager, but she expects respect from them. Once I was helping her make spaghetti, and she actually called me a stupid twit because I used to much sauce. It wasn't in a joking way, either. I had had enough, told her she was an awful person and I didn't like her a bit, and walked out.

I agree with you that it's completely inappropriate for your aunt to treat you in a disrespectful way. However, as they say, two wrongs don't make a right. If this happens in the future, you might choose to say something more like, "I'm sorry my way of doing it isn't satisfactory to you. Maybe you can find somebody else to help you do it the way you like." Then leave the situation or do something else appropriate. I'm guessing that other family members might not be thrilled that you said that to your aunt and you might want to apologize before other people get upset with you.

By the way, if your aunt needs help making spaghetti, it is entirely possible that she might be suffering from some problems that are unfortunately all too common for older people, such as Alzheimer's disease. This could be an explanation for her inappropriate behavior. Maybe your family could have her evaluated.
