I suspect our daughter has croup, she will be visiting her ped tomorrow morning and is resting well now with the cool mist humidifier and one bathroom mist session. My question is should we cancel our vacation? We are departing on trip to Hawaii this Sunday and then will be embarking on a ten day cruise.

Check what you doctor says. If he thinks she will be ok then go but he will tell you if it is safe or not to go. Hopefully you wont have to cancel your holiday, maybe you might just have to pack the himidifier and take it with you. Good luck and hope you end up going and having fun.

Croup is much worse at night. You'll see she's at least better this morning I'm sure. And worse tonight and better tomorrow morning... My son had it and it scared the heck out of me the first night. By the 3rd night he was fine. I did a 30-minute triage over the phone with the nurse the first night and never even had to take him to the doctor. I'd GO TO HAWAII!!! I have actually - the first and only time I left my son behind. Do NOT miss your trip!!!! She will be FINE possibly even before you leave. :) Enjoy!

toss out the cool mist if you don't clean it will a bleach/water solution after each use. the mold buildup will be even more unhealthy -stick to hot air vaporizers. follow the instructions of the pediatrician closely and call 911 if needed in Hawaii.

If it were me, I would. Croup is some nasty stuff.

Edit! Even if your daughter isn't going with you, she will need the comfort of her momma. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the trip knowing my little one is suffering at home.

relies upon on your very own financial situation. in case you are able to answer "confident" to here 2 questions, then i could say take the trip regardless of no remember if there's a recession: a million) Are you out of debt (no credit enjoying cards)? 2) After determining to purchase the trip, could you nevertheless be out of debt, and even have sufficient funds-on-hand-in-the-financial employer to cover 6 months of expenses (approximately $25,000) in case something occurs on your husband's activity?

You should ask your doctor that question if you plan to take your daughter with you. If she will be staying behind then it will depend on the prognosis, and care that can be provided at home.
