My cousin recently got married to this guy that my mom doesn't like at all. I'm not really sure why, but she hates him so much that she forbids me from communicating with him. I mean, if he comes to our house, she doesn't mind me talking to him, but otherwise, she doesn't want me communicating. I actually think he's a GREAT person, so I secretly chat with him online. But I feel really weird, since my mom doesn't like him. Would you feel weird if you were in this situation?

you know what she probably does know why she doesn't like him but may not think it good for you to know, never have figured that one out but parents usually know alot more about a situation then they let on, and usually it is not a good idea to do something behind their backs for that same reason, she probably knows far more than she is telling you and it might be a good idea to listen he may have a criminal history, or something else that she is trying to protect you from

Yes. Maybe your mom senses something about him or knows something that you cannot perceive yet because you're too young and inexperienced. You're better off to obey your mom's wishes. She's looking out for you.

It is not weird for you to have a different opinion than your parents. She should have told you why she does not want you to talk to him. Have you asked her?
