Is it fresh and active? Like if you just got hit in the nose? Or is it thinner, intermittent bloody fluid? Sometimes after the splints are removed, a little drainage off and on is normal. If you have new, active bleeding (longer than 30 seconds), I would definitely call your doctor. Just remember, new bleeding is never normal. Post op drainage is different. In the meantime, put pinch your nose (dont tilt back) and apply some ice to the bridge of your nose. Good luck!

Having drainage about what you have gone threw is somewhat normal, the problem is that it seems like it has been going on for a long time.
When they do this type of surgery there is a lot of blood involved no matter what you do, so the best advice that I can give you and everyone else has given you is....Call your doctor in the morning, he (or she) can tell you what you need to do. If you are worried or if it gets worse, go to the ER they can fix you up and make sure that everything is still okay with your sinuses.

Old blood would be dark brown. New blood is red. It is normal to experience some bleeding after splints are removed, but that is a long time. Is there a number to your doctor that you could call? It's always good to follow up. If not, place some kleenex under your nose (not in it) with a piece of tape securing it to your cheeks and call in the am...

The reason it's bleeding so much is obviously the large amounts of blood in your head, I would like to agree that it's old, but 7-8 hours is more than your sinuses should be holding, especially in pure blood lol.
Call your doctor, it may just be a temporary thing that will self correct, but no one can really tell you better than call your doctor.
Now! lol

Leave things alone for now. The bleeding should stop on its own by tomorrow; but if it doesn't or if it gets worse then contact your doctor immediately. Do not under any circumstances blow your nose while this is going on.
If you get that yucky dried blood taste in the back of your mouth rinse out with some minty mouthwash.

Call the doctor that did the surgery and ask him what to do. He may want to see you again for a follow up visit. If the bleeding doesn't stop soon, go to an urgent care facility if your doctor can't see you immediately.

old blood is dark and sometimes to black in color. new blood is red right red. if you are still bellding call your doctors number, it will go to a answering service and he can call you back with infomation on what you need to do right now. ice on the bridge in a rage, and head back and have someone around tell you hear back from your doctor. bleeding out is not a lot of fun and you can die. Please call him now.

If it doesn't quit by tomorrow morning I would definetly call your physician and have it checked out. But sounds like its probably from the extensive surgery and will more than likely subside.
