The US government won't answer "how many aliens are you keeping out there" because there aren't any. Why won't they say that there aren't any? Because you wouldn't believe them in the first place, so why spend the energy trying?

The secrecy around Area 51 has nothing to do with what the American public can or cannot handle. Truth is that it's incredibly boring, but again, who's going to believe that when it's so much more fun to believe that there are little green people run all over the place asking for a Snickers? Anyone that is safeguarding information knows that the fewer people who know about it, the fewer people will find out. There are classified programs there, and it'll be that way for at least 50 years...so by the time the information is made public, we'll already be working on things that you won't get to find out about until the next 50 years. People have big mouths, and the last thing we need is an enemy finding out about the technology we're working on so that they have an advantage over us.

quite often empty hangers from a bygone era of secret try flights and experimental plane. what's there at the instant is left over floor handling kit and cobwebs. no longer something there secret for the reason that intense powered undercover agent satellites got here into use. Sorry to bust the bubble of mind's eye, however the comparable indications are on fairly much each militia post we've. comparable is going for a roving take care of rigidity. Given the belief of secret UFOs and the Indiana Jones like secret, the backside has consistently had a beefed up protection rigidity for the wackos that think of they are in a place to sneak in to detect a hidden secret that would not exist.

They test aircraft there. The only reason people think that there are "aliens" there is because of special aircraft that have been tested by the USAF.

As for why the government wont answer questions about Area 51... If the American public knew about what was going on there, so would Americas enemies. It is stupid, stuff is classified for a reason.

It was a facility used for development and testing of new high performance military aircraft. But the producers of "The X-Files" knew that sort of story wasn't riveting enough to hold an audience and trigger off the "conspiracy theory" cells in the brains of the viewers. So, they went with a story line that gave the people an impression that we aren't alone in this universe. But, we are.

They do admit their is a facility at Groom Lake.
Their is a reason stuff is classified, and it does not have to be because of little green men. It could be because of other reasons that we do not want anyone to know about.

Whatever they had there was pretty dam important. Signs posted that use of lethal force is authorized for trespassing. But it could have been just to hide secret technology, like new weapons. I would be just as suspicous about Patterson-Wright Air Force Base.
