I know there were constitiutional freedoms in Iraq for them yrs ago. And now there are in the latest Iraqi Constitution. But so many have been martyred now & many evacuated.
So? Now not to many Indigenious Iraqi Christians in Iraq left.

So what did we (US) do wrong that made them vulnerable to terrorsits & genocide?
What can we do now?

Chaldean Catholics have been leaving Iraq for several decades. Many have settled in the San Diego area. That is also true for Catholics in other Arab countries as well. Over 80% of Arab-Americans are Christian, not Muslim.
As for the constitutional freedoms under the Iraqi regime run by Hussein and the Ba'athists, I can only recall one Christian member of Hussein's Revolutionary Command Council and that was Tariq Aziz. He was a Chaldean Catholic. I cannot recall one Kurd or one member of the Syriac Catholic Church in a high governmental position.
With respect to Hussein and the Ba'athists, everyone who was not from the town of Tikrit was a potential victim of that regime's genocidal policies, including Shia Muslims in Basra Province. You won't find any residents of Tikrit in those mass graves being uncovered.

Before our involvement, Sunni Muslims could kill Shia Muslims and Christians with very little fear of punishment. Shia Muslims could kill Christians with very little fear of punishment.

Christians kept a very low profile and tried not to upset anyone.

Now, the playing field is level, anyone can kill anyone else.

Easy, you killed Saddam Hussain who protected all christians in Iraq from all the bird brained muslims. And now you've left Iraq with no proper government, and no security. Why do u have to stick yourselves in other people's business all the time, you are not protecting the middle east, you are distroying it, thanks to you Americans, no christian can now survive in the land of Christ. Thanks again!!!

George Bush wasn't in power. That answers all of your questions, especially about their vulnerability to terrorists.
