k. I do not know what I want to do with my future. I m currently senior in high school. I know my major. I am planning to go for either biology or biochem. But I do not know what school to go for. I have applied to certain colleges like UIC and NIU. I also got in all of them. But I dont knw if i should go for it or not. I know for sure that community college like harper is going to give me full free ride for 2 yrs. But my question is should I let go of this 2 free years of college and go for university,
especially when I am planning to go for medicine (which is like 12 years of college)?

I also had questions for scholarships. I have been applying to few of them, but is there anyway I can get full scholarships in university? My GPA and ACT scores are pretty good. I have heard many people have gotten full scholarship. How do I get that? Where and how do I apply? I am new to this whole scholarship thing. I would really appreciate if someone can help.....

The best advice that I have is go for the route where you have the less amount in student loans for your undergraduate degree. I would keep the community college in mind. However, I would wait until you got your financial aid report back from the universities before making your final decision. In addition, I recommend searching for outside scholarships. I will include some free resources below to find money to attend college.

First, complete the FAFSA form. It becomes available January 1 for the upcoming fall semester or quarter. Even if you think your parents make too much money, I recommend still applying for it. It takes into consideration your family size and how many will be attending college at the same time. It utilizes a percentage formula of your income and savings along with your parents' income and savings. It could qualify you for the Pell Grant (if your EFC is low enough), scholarships from the endowment fund, work study, and student loans. This needs to be completed each year until you graduate from medical school.

Second, your high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships and state programs for students. The local scholarships are easier to get compared to national ones. Also, some states do reward students with excellent grades.

Third, your local public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. You enter a profile, and it will search for scholarships matching your profile. There are scholarships for almost anything out there including wearing duct tape to the senior prom.

Good luck!

Usually, pre-requisites for any program are similar for colleges and universities. If you have a full ride to a college, it would save you a lot of financial burden. Just check with the university you want to attend to see if the credits will transfer from the college to the university and count torwards your desired degree.

Check with the financial aid office of the college or university you plan to attend. They can give you a packet of information on specific scholarships you can apply for. They're very helpful.

Four years at a University, three in med school = 7 years. Depends what you want to do. If you've gotten into the colleges and your SAT/ACT scores are good as well as your grades...research the schools and see what % of freshman get in with what type of scores, then visit the college and at that time you cn talk to a couincler. You have the rest of your life to go to college.

You will probably get some financial aid, grant, and scholarship and pay off more then half of your costs...but it all depends on how rich you are and your situation..and I would say go for the university
