Is it possible for a nearly 3 yr old to have ADD or ADHD?

could anyone give me some ideas of symtoms in a 3 yr old? My 7 yr old daughter has it,my niece I'm raising has it, but they were not diagnosed this early, so I wonder about the symptoms with him being so young. by the way the 3 yr old is my nephew that I'm also raising. HELP! my husband and I are at our wits end and wonder if we can help him become a productive adult!!!

mental illness' like these technically can develop at any age, so yes its possible, i highly suggest bringing them to a doctor to confirm if they have it or not though, but as far as them getting it yes it is very possible and most likely happens more than people know at the same time kids will be kids, some kids are just themselves which happens to be nuts lol, my neice never listens just because shes so fun loving, she does what shes wants ^_^

It's possible, but it's really better to wait until the child is in school and see how he or she functions before seeking treatment. It doesn't seem right to give a child medication unless it's absolutely necessary.

The three year old is probably just being a three year old. I asked the doctor the same thing about my grand daughter who also is three. She doesn't listen, does her own thing, etc. etc. The doctor told me she is being indenpendant and that she is thrilled to hear that she is "SO" independant. Hang in there....four is coming!

take him/her to psychologist for some simple tests. not a doctor - doctors dont know anything about mental health... thats why there is psychologists.

might just be acting like a three year old acts, but yes it is possible.
