I have nude stockings with a black backseam. Is this just too much in our day and age? What are some possible (elegant)combinations?

Pencil skirt, white blouse, classic blank pumps, hair in an updo. You can even go so far as the elbow-length black gloves and a pearl bracelet and necklace set. Haha!
That's the first look that popped into my head ... lol, Sorry if it's a little out there. It'd be cute at the right occasion! :)

I love backseam stocking and haven't seen them available in years. They go great with a skirt or dress with high heels. The higher the heels the better.

A backseam makes stockings inherently more dressy. So keep that in mind.
A tailored skirt and a cocktail dress are two examples in which it would be fitting.

Yeah, definately wear heels with them and either a short skirt or dress, or very short legged shorts or similar. I think elegance will make a comeback and I'm already noticing more females wearing more feminine clothing like long skirts insteads of trousers so go for it.

Actually, the elegance is a nice counterpoint to casual wear on occasions. On the other hand, it might be good to save them for a nice night out for dinner and dancing or other activities.

Or buy a nice pair of rockport Leidens....
Try a classic black dress ala audrey hepburn..
