I keep thinking people are secretly talking behind my back, that everyone is just pretending to be nice and everything is pretend. Everyone's always mad at me and I never say the right thing. I'm really nice to ppl but I avoid them like crazy. I hate talking on the phone and even now little fun chat rooms make me nervous.

A psychologist helped me to sort out what was real and what was not.

There are medications available to people who falsely sense others are "out to get them" or other false sensations or perceptions. A psychiatrist is the Dr who specializes in such psych medications.

One of the common pieces of mental illnesses is the difficulty to be able to separate what is real from what is not.

Sounds like paranoia or social anxiety. If not both. You should seek medical attention there are drugs that address these problems. You shouldn't have to try to cope on you own. Do get help. Peace.

You should go see a clinical psychologist. Ph.D. They can help you figure it all out. All this will do is freak you out.
