It'll work until it doesn't anymore, at which point, you bounce.
My experience is that even when you start out by saying that there won't be any feelings involved, inevitably, someone can't help themselves after a while and that person starts getting a little nutty. That's when it's time to leave. And the other person shouldn't feel taken advantage of because if the one leaving was honest and didn't change the terms of the deal.
By that time you call it off, though, you may have had a few really fun months, especially because you were just focused on fun rather than stressing over relationship nonsense, so I think that it works.

It can as long as no feelings ever develop. Very few people can make it work. You need to discuss a few things...will one of you feel jealous if the other suddenly has to stop because they've found another relationship? Are you friends or just lovers? You may say that you've decided that feelings won't be involved, but you can't stop feelings from developing. Usually, with fwb, someone ends up getting hurt.
I'm in a fwb situation right now and we both keep saying that that's what we are, we're not dating, etc and that if one of us finds someone else, we'll stop. I think deep down, we both know that the one left out so to speak when that happens is going to be hurt. I know when/if he finds someone else, I will be crushed. So much for feelings not being involved. He, I believe, will feel the same way if I find someone. Yet, here we both are, pretending that everything is okay and that both of us are okay with the other finding someone else, etc.

Absolutely not. Unless both of you are just completely heartless and incapable of having feelings, its not going to work. You cant do something that intimate with someone and there be no feelings involved. It may go well for a couple of weeks or a couple of months, but eventually one is going to develop feelings and it always sucks because it started out just for fun and now both get their feelings hurt. If it was me, find a steady gf/bf or go with Rosy palm and her five sisters cuz its going to ruin a friendship.

Yes, if both of you are just after getting off and releasing some build up tensions inside without any strings attached then yes, friends with benefits really works.

The whole idea of friends with benefits is because you already establish that it wont work out.

Mmmm
personal experience-- i started liking him, and same went for him. We both dated other people, and still "benefited" with each other. IDK... things changes, and so did our feelings, and we hooked up. Like...3 times! And the funny thing was, we were better off a Friends W/ Benefits, so i guess it might work out.

Well, the only "friends with benefits" that I've ever had was with my ex(at the time)... which lead to us falling deeper in love, and getting back together. hahaha.
