no, Mary did not die a virgin, she was married.
She was a virgin that had not "known" a man.
but to consumate a marriage, they have to become "one"
but because of the extraordinary circumstances,
they probably did not "become one" untill after birth of Christ.
And i think there is a "waiting period" the HUSBAND AND WIFE have to wait, after the woman gives birth, either 7 days or 40 days, i dont remember. Have to look it up in Deut.
Plus the bible says He had a half brother named James
and the reason Jesus told John the apostle to take care of Mary was because Jesus knew James would eventually be martyred, also knowing John would die old of natural causes.

Mary remained a virgin until after the birth of Jesus. Jesus had half brothers and sisters, by Mary and Joseph. In fact one wrote the book of James, and was a leader in the early church. So, no she was not still a virgin. She also went home to the Lord, after passing from this life.

Mary did not remain a virgin - Jesus was born of Mary after the Most High overshadowed her - But Joseph didn't lie with Her until after the birth of Jesus and Mary's 33 days of purification.( AS per Jewish Ceremonial law). That's how Jesus had half brothers and sisters who tried to see him but couldn't get through the crowds. See the verses Matthew 1:25, Matthew 12: 46,47 Mark 3:19-21, 31-35, Luke 8: 19-21

Well it may sound sarcastic but it is true that you won't find thoughts { at least rational ones } from a christian on this subject as they always will end up spouting train in preconceptions not rational thought .

See what I mean they can't agree on a simple idea and bicker over something that really has absolutely nothing to do with the story . I figure that if a woman is married she will have sex with her husband { except for my ex-wife [ does that make her Mary ? ] } This means no however this assumes that Mary was a real person . After all are you a virgin and do you intend to remain on for the rest of your life ? Even if you get married ? Think on it and use YOUR brain don't let others tell you what to believe .

Why is it Christians don't like the truth ? Oh yeah it conflicts with their faith !

The catholic faith is as far as I know the only one that teaches that Jesus mother Mary remained a virgin all her life. They attempt to reconcile this belief with the biblical account by saying that the others mentioned as brothers and sisters are really just his disciples and the words brother and sister are to be taken in a religious community sense, rather than a physical one. However the bible makes pretty clear that Jesus did in fact have physical brothers and sisters, not just religious followers, so no, you're not reading anything incorrectly.

Yes, that is what the Catholic and Orthodox Churches teach. They interpret the 'brothers' of Jesus as either coming from an Aramaic source word meaning generally 'cousins' or 'relatives', or as children Joseph had from a previous marriage (his previous wife having died). This belief in the perpetual virginity of Mary is ancient.
the comment that Mary couldn't have been a virgin after giving birth is based on a crude notion of virginity requiring an unbroken hymen. Some early Church writers said Jesus was born as light passes through glass, but it has never been required as part of the perpetual virginity of Mary.

I beleave that Marry was a virgen for a while but in the end im sure that she and Josheph consimated ther marrage at some time in there life. It wasn't a sin then and its still the way of the world. And yes Jesus did have many brothers and sisters that is what he called every one. and they still do it today in many churches.

Do you believe in the power of God? Do you believe that God can raise the dead? That Jesus, the son of God can be born and walk among us? Do you believe that he rose form the dead? That he can be born of a virgin, as foretold in the Old Testament and in Luke 1 where Mary says that she has had no relations with a man? That is the leap of faith. God said it was so, so it is. We are not talking about BIOLOGY as we understand it. This is about the power of GOD to do this. Do you believe?
Catholics assembled the Bible, and so do not worry about people that say that Catholics do not follow the Bible. They can get their own book to argue against Catholics! We also follow tradition, as the apostle says, "Hold fast to the tradition that we taught you." To further explain what tradition is: there was no Bible for many years. No one sat under the cross with a pen and wrote the Bible. It was passed on by word of mouth and later written: this is called TRADITION. 'The faith was passed on by the preaching of the apostles. There was no printing press back then folks. How did the faith spread? Word of mouth TRADITION. And, it has always, always, always, been tradition that Mary conceived as a virgin, gave birth as a virgin, and remained a virgin. Look in the Early Church Fathers who wrote this, who knew the apostles and were taught by the apostles. (Catholics believe this because they have been in existence for over 2,000 yrs. - they trace themselves right back to Christ creating the Catholic church. They go waaaay back! To the source.)
As to statements that many of the teachings of the Catholic church are not in the Bible, they ARE explicitly or implicitly in the Bible or in Tradition. In any case, remember the words in the Bible John 21:24-25: "It is this disciple who testifies to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true. There are also MANY OTHER THINGS that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world could contain the books that would be written." John is saying that everything is not in the Bible. God is bigger than the Bible, even, folks. He is awesome! The Bible is one way he speaks to us.
Do you think our puny little minds can wrap around the MYSTERY of God?? No. So that is where our faith is.
So the question really is: do you believe God can do this???
(P.S. The posters here who clarified interpretation of the original Biblical language and the cultural meaning regarding brothers and sisters as cousins or half brothers and sisters in that era, etc. are correct, studious, very good answers. Check into it more at the sources below. May God bless!)

Mat 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?
Mat 13:56 And are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?"
Mat 13:57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household."

Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the Son of Mary, the Brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him."

Gal 1:19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother.

Since Catholics worship Mary, they had to keep her in Goddess standings by keeping her a Virgin. The Bible does not say this. It also says that there is only one Mediator between God and Men and His name is Jesus, not Mary. There are many things that Catholics practice that are not in the Bible, such as remaining celibate and abstaining from eating meat. That these false religions have an appearance of Holiness, but deny the power, there of(The life changing power of the Holy Ghost) In fact, God says that He hates these traditions, such as worshiping and praying to Idols because they keep Men separated from God. He wants to have a personal relationship with us. Jesus called this being Born Again. That is when the Holy Spirit(God) comes into our being and He allows our Bodies to become the Temple of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 says that if we turn from our sins and be Baptized in the NAME of Jesus for the payment of our sins(infant baptism does not count), then God will give us the Holy Ghost. Then God adopts us into His Family. We are saved from our sins by who we are and not what we do. What we do only proves to us and to God, who we are. If we have the Holy Spirit living in us, our desires and behaviors change. If we try to live the life without in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we are living a lie and are trusting in our own works.
