I plan on getting an american deluxe fender strat. But I heard about this other guitar called a G&L legacy. I know a lot about the strat but not so much the Legacy. What are the differences between them as far as pickups, type of wood, features etc. and which would suit my preferences more. I like to play alternative, grunge, blues, jazz, classic rock, hard rock, progressive, and metal. A few of my favorite bands are Pink floyd, Led zeppelin, U2, Rush, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Oasis, Coldplay, The Beatles, Audioslave etc.

I have a Strat Deluxe and I have an OLD G&L 'skyhawk', which is very similar to the strat or legacy. The deluxe strat has the S1 switch that gives many more combinations of the pick-ups. One great feature of the deluxe is it can sound like it has humbucker pick-ups. This is a top- of- the line guitar.
The G&L is much like a regular strat in the pick-up choices, but the G&L pickups have fully adjustable pole peices and are higher output than a standard strat. G&L instruments are all made in USA and are very high quality.
Both are excellent choices, the Fender will hold it's resale value better.
Play them both and decide what's best.

you would be able to desire to yet, like various different guy suggested, it is extra gentle to artwork with an open area. much less demanding too. in simple terms jack the motor vehicle up, get rid of the wheel, and locate the ideal mounting holes to un-screw.

Go with the strat - they are easier to upgrade, if you ever want to.

Which one did you like the most when you compared/played them?... you DID play them, didn't you?

Never buy any guitar you haven't played first because the guitar you hate may be one someone else loves and vice versa.

You have to try them both out, preferably at the same time, one after the other, and then figure out which one you like the best. I've found that sometimes guitars made by brands I wouldn't normally consider make great guitars if you pick the right one. I like Gibson Les Pauls, but I have a Yamaha that is similar that works just great. Try them both out, pick the "winner" - for you.
