where is the other dollar?

3 men stop at a motel with $10 each. The innkeeper says " the room is $25, i'll give you each a dollar back and keep $2 for myself." then they each payed $9 x3 = $27 + $2 for the innkeeper is $29 where is the other dollar?

Oh I heard this one on the radio, so the innkeeper charged them 25 it was actually like 20 or somethin so he gave it to the bellhop to give back to the guys but the bellhop kept he money. Anyways I heard it on the radio like 3 months ago so I can't remember it very well...

Three men stop at an inn and the bellhop checks them in and charges them $30 for a room; they each pay $10. The innkeeper later tells the bellhop that the room is only $25 and to refund the $5. The bellhop can't figure out how to divide the $5 three ways, so he returns $1 to each man and keeps the other $2. So $9 from each man is $27 and $2 to the bellhop makes $29. Where is the other $1?

Actually the innkeeper has $25, the men have $3, and the bellhop has $2, so there is no missing dollar. The men paid $27 and that accounts for the money that the innkeeper and the bellhop have.

the three men are retards. why did they paid the innkeeper another two dollars?!? the room is $25. then the $2 the innkeeper wants. $25 + $2 = $27!!! The missing dollar is with them all along. they have lost money.
