Hunting magazines and a good animal portrait artist and you've got a great combo. :) The better the source material, the better the artist, the better the tattoo. :D
Google makes it easy to find photos of deer as well. Don't just type in 'deer tattoo'. All that will bring up is pictures of other peoples tattoos. Don't copy.

Why doesn't he just find a nice picture of a deer that he likes? Bring it to a good tattoo artist, and they will be able to turn it into a tattoo.

You can take any picture into a shop and they can draw it up for you. You can also go in with an idea and they can draw if from scratch; you'll get the most original tat this way.

Okay..follow these simple steps. Find a nice spot out in nature, eat 5 dried grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and start searching deep within yourself. There will become a point where time and space dissolve. A point where you are know longer seeing the world from your 2 eyes, but your third eye. Just find a picture of a deer that he likes and take it to the tattoo shop. They'll draw it up for you.

Talk to a local tattoo artist, many of them are good artists and can probably draw one then tattoo it on your Dad.
