I think you may be reading that the Tioga Road is closed. That's the road to the high country. The main roads are open. See link below to the National Park Service site.

Yosemite Valley is fun to visit in the winter, even if there is snow. You can do some hiking around and go ice skating at Curry Village. The Ahwahnee Hotel would be open. Have a meal or a tea there. The Visitor's center would be open. They would list schedules for interpretive walks and educational meetings.

On the way to LA, you could stop in Oakhurst at Erna's Elderberry House. It's a famous restaurant in a very out-of-the-way area. I have not personally been there but it's always well spoken of.

Yosemite is awesome. :} make sure you see the water drops. In yosemite, you should also go on the tram way up to the snow - that was amazing!
it lifts you from dry land up to the snow in high mountains.

when going to los angeles, you're in for a treat,
i suggest going here:

- Hollywood [the fun part of it]
[you can get a list of the stars homes there and take your tourists to see their homes]
- In hollywood, go to the Ripleys Museum.
Also go to the Wax museum.
- Third Street Promenade [fun with lots of interesting acts!]
- Universal Studios
- Disney Land
- I suggest taking them to a nearby mall to show them how people dress in california...
