OK I love it, no big deal Loved my straight 6 in my two other wranglers will this one hold up only time will tell. Yes not as easy to work on, but also not a new engine design. If you check stats this v6 has slightly more HP and low end torque. I manage average of 17-19 mpg this is a with 32's in the rubicon package. All together not bad. It does have the 6 speed which I think could be fine tuned a bit does take all the way to forth to get rolling but still seems ok to me, handle highway fine no lack in power. Guess the only problem i have is I tend to stall this one off road a lil more have to figure that out think I need keep RPM's up. JP magazine compares both.

I like the I-6 much better in some regards. The V-6 is Quieter and gets better gas mileage, but i didn't buy mine to frequent the mall. I need the grunt of the inline 6 that made the Jeep for the last 25 years.

My initial thoughts: Please this V-6 is gutless! and the damn thing will fit in your back pocket. Serious it is the most un-gratifing thing to open the hood of your new truck to show it off to your friends and his jappo piece of sh!t has a bigger engine.

With that said I will say that I just moved my family to Houston in my 07 Sahara 4-door pulling a 6x12 enclosed trailer that weighed at least 2800lbs.

Okay maybe there is something to this V6. 18 hours on the road pulling a huge payload. I was impressed!!!

2 huge thumbs up!!!

I don't like the V6 engines. They don't have the fuel economy that the 4.0L I6 engines had. I'll take my I6 engine any day over a new Jeep. They're easier to work on than the V6 engines too, and have been around for many years and were great engines. Chrysler had to go and screw up a perfectly good vehicle by installing a V-style 6 cylinder engine. They've lost quite a few customers because of their stupidity.

if you like driving a mini van then by all means get the 3.8 l. engine wrangler.chrysler has been using the 3.8 l.engine on most of its mini vans for years.and don't get me wrong.it is a good engine for a mini van.but a wrangler is a truck, and that is what you want a truck right.6 cyl 4.0 liter engine on any jeep is a good engine

the 3.8L in the new wranglers is not new it is the same motor used in the caravan and town and country for years just with a different camshaft and minor details. Also the new 6 speed manual trans are a great welcome.
