All his hair was gone from around his neck due to severe ear mites and he was just about to be put down. Out of all the adorable kittens I just couldn't leave poor little ugly Willie there. He looked so alone. Does anyone else have kitty pics to share? I just love kitty pics!

Not the avatar kitten that's Allie, look at the links.

Actually I posted this to let people see the difference a loving home can make in a pet's life. Runts and sickly babies (and adults) need a little extra care but it's worth it.

Lord have mercy, people. Get the point. I never called Willie ugly to his face. Is it not clear that I love this cat and saw beyond his outward appearance? I too believe all animals are beautiful but the general public would have thought Willie too ugly to mess with and left him for a cute, cuddly fuzzy kitten. I was trying to prove a point with this!

God Bless You for adopting a less than beautiful baby. I don't know how to upload pix w/o changing the whole avatar thing, but I have 2 adopted shelter kitties too. One who is a black/grey striped tabby, was rescued from a construction site being trapped in a wall and emaciated (they didn't think she was going to make it). I named her "Gypsy", referencing the gypsum board (drywall) of the construction which saved her, but could have just as well been her grave. The other one is a white cat with black "cow spots" in weird places. She was the "mama" cat with 5 newborn kittens rescued from the side of the road. Lots of people adopted the kittens, but no one wanted the scrawny mama kitty. I felt bad for her, and adopted her. She is such a diva, and a great big sister to Gypsy. Her name is Syeira, which means Princess in the ancient gypsy language (get the tie in?) and acts every bit of royalty. Gotta love em. Tell your friends that "love has no pedigree". All animals deserve to have a forever home. Glad Willie has you.

I know what you mean, My outside kitty Leonidas was really sick the day i got him from the Humane but he's a big o'l beefcake now...I don't have any pics besides the ones when he was little on my Myspace. I think its the greatest thing when people adopt animals from places like that, they all deserve a chance some times two...BTW Willie is a HOTTIE!

I have a Willy too...he is shy of cameras so unfortunately no pics. He was given to me when he was about 3 months old. He was so afraid of everything that he hid under my bed for a month. By the time I saw him again, he grew and I barely recognized him. He's still a bit skittish of strangers but Willy and I have a bond now.

That kind of abuse happens everywhere not just the city. There are some really sick people out there. I'd like to see them receive the same treatment. The world has no use for people who abuse defenceless animals for thier own plesure. Yes small animals are used as part of the food chain but that gives no right to tourture the kitted more by dropkicking and killing it.

Awwww! Willie is SO cute!
Actually I have a similar story to share...
25 Animals that were rescued from Hurricane Katrina were brought to my local animal shelter... My Mom gave me one of those Kitten's!

My Kitten was found with his Mom and Brother in a bath tub in the attic of a flooded house!
When I got my kitten he was 4 months old... He is now 2 years and 5 months!
I don't have a picture of him when I got him but I have one of him now!
He used to be SO scrawny and sick!

Here Hurricaine (guess how I came up with his name?? LOL) is now!

AWWWWWWWW!! He's so adorable! Well, my dad rescued our kitten from an abandoned CVS dumpster, ate up with fleas and near death!! We washed his tiny, frail body in the sink and had to keep changing the water because of how bloody it was, (fleas). We couldn't even put cat flea shampoo on him because he was way too young. Now, he is a happy, HUGE, spoiled cat! (he has large rabbit feet and paws! :D So adorable!! But a few months ago, Winston, (cat) was diagnosed with the mange...:( BUT, he is doing better and on his way to recovery!! ;D

He is a handsome fellow! You are a wonderful person to have adopted him, and he is very lucky as well. I have all the animals I can take care of and give good care to. I wish I could do more. What really irks me is the irresponsible pet ownership of individuals who have no commitment at all, and just discard their pets like refuse when they no longer want to be bothered by them.
