The best way to get a bird to shut up is to find it another home. You'll never hear it again.
If you think you'll be happy, you're bird will be ecstatic.
This also works for shutting up stupid people.

I cannot imagine how you can get any more obnoxious.
You adopted the bird into your home, therefore promising to let it live a long healthy life and care for it. Why did you take a life into your own hands and scold it for something you aren't doing correctly? If it's singing it's heart out and showing what he can do, he's obviously striving for attention, which you aren't giving. There is nothing wrong for someone to be stiving for happiness. You're also calling the bird an "it". You don't care for it at all, do you?
"im going to strangle that bird in like 2 seconds!"
Are you really?
You are not a responsible human being at all. Hand the bird over to a caring, compassionate friend and let it live a happy life.

Wow... your bird does a LOT of things other people can't get their birds to do. You know, you adopted the bird and/or decided to have it live with you. That means, you take responsibility for its care. It sounds like a happy bird. Don't supress its happiness because you're obnoxious. If you really can't handle the NATURAL bird instinct to make noise, put it up for adoption and do the rest of us a favor... DON'T GET ANOTHER BIRD (keep in mind, dogs bark, cats meow, fish need the tank cleaned often, guinea pigs squeel, etc, etc... maybe you should research a bit more next time before you get another pet!)

He is just a very happy bird. My two cockatiels sing and make noise all day long because that is what birds do. It's part of who they are and if you want a healthy happy bird you don't mess with it. If you don't like the concert, why did you get a bird? please consider giving him to someone who will appreicate him and try to suppress his happiness as he is not a stupid bird. He's trying to impress you and get you to spend time with him.

If the vet says he should be fine then he does have a chanec. He hasn't died of shock yet and the antibiotics should kill off any bacteria from teh cat's saliva. Just make sure in future to shut the door and make everyone know how important it is.

well ur mean!!! cockatiels r like the greatest birds in the world and if it sings like that it means its happy and how u discribed it, it must like u!! oh and putting a cloth over it during the day does nothing, poeople think it works, but if the cockatiel knows it is day time when u put the cloth over it, it will still sing. if u dont like it then give it away, but if u do that it will feel like u just gave away a good friend, well to the cockatiel anyway. hey if i live close to u then u could give him to me. i have an avaory of cockaiels and i love them!!!

Place an ad in the local newspaper offering the bird free to a good home. State all the things he does. I guarantee you will egt people willing to take him off your hands!
Many Cockateil owners would give their left walnut for a bird as talented and friendly as yours!
After you find him a good home, buy a FISH! You won't be botherred by his noise.

All of those things that your bird knows sounds SO COOL!
Sometimes birds will go nuts making all of their learned noises for attention.... Ever think of taking the bird out for a few minutes, give it some attention, then put it back into the cage?
My conure makes a noise that bugs the crap out of me, I go take him out, give him attention,, and he is happy and quiet... same thing with the parrot.

As a professional dog trainer for over 16 years, I have to tell you my strong opinion that you need these group classes for obedience training. http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?Xk63
Other pet warehouses are there to get you to buy their products and hang around their strore. And their trainers are their employees...never forget they have an agenda. Most of the trainers have very little education--if they had actual training and skills they wouldn't be there making just over minimum wage--trust me on this. But even if they did have experience and talent...a group setting is a terrible place for learning to take place. It's distraction training and it is the LAST phase of training not the first. You wouldn't have your child try to do their homework in a toy store, would you? Of course not...the level of distraction would be too high! It's the same with dogs. Having said that, these classes can be an excellent way to socialize dogs...but not to train them. And while they appear to be cheaper than a professional trainer...you have to attend many more sessions to get the same results because of the poor learning environment--so you wind up spending MORE money for less training than you would with a professional. Save your money and go to someone who actually knows how to train dogs. OR, read books and try to train your dog yourself. There is nothing they train at a Petsmart or Petco that you can't do yourself with a couple of hours of reading.
