I'm kind of surprised by how many are saying "yes, of course".
I only know of one guy who told a gal that he loved her when he really didn't, and all of his friends (guys) were disgusted with him.

Certainly, some do, but I really hope that it is not as common as everyone here seems to think it is.
I don't think a guy needs to say "I love you" to get some sex. There are so many women who will give it without being in love.

And ladies, don't think that only men can be so shallow and selfish. Take a good look around at what a lot women do.

A guy can say whatever he wants and saying "I love you" is a very common way to "get some ??"

The question really should be.... Should the girl believe every "I love you" she hears, or should she be expected to use some common sense when deciding whether or not he means what he says, or if he's trying to get some ???

My pov is that a guy is a dirt-bag if he resorts to such a statement to get some??? but I have known plenty of folks of my gender who also want to get some ??? so they accept the statement, true or not.

It takes two so we can't always blame the guy.

I'm sorry, I'm not a guy but the answer to this question seems pretty easy: do you say "I love you" to people with no feelings attached? Yes? So picture a guy saying the same thing to you in order to simply satisfy his raging hormones. It's as clear as day now isn't it?

Definitely Yes. IMHO though, a lot of guys get caught up in the moment. They are trying to get sex, but they may actually believe (in that moment) they feel that way. I don't think most guys intentionally "lie" about that kind of thing just to get it (I'm sure that SOME do though)

I could not. Even find it hard at first when it is very real. However, I do know of guys, even friends of mine who say it to get to 'Hairy-Fishy-Land'. Every man wants to pick up a ticket to go there, but some would lower their honor and integrity. It was just like how my ex-girl told me all those nice things in order to f..k up my money.

yeah they sure can. but the question is why are you asking? if a guy has told you that it doesnt mean he means it unfortunately that works both ways, the only way to tell is by his actions. words just say alot actions proove them! if you dont feel or think he means it he probably dosnt your instinct must be above all else the only thing you trust we can tell you our oppinions and our facts but only you can tell if he loves you.

Yes they can, had one that said it on our first date. I know your asking mainly men, but I've been there done that.

A person can prove their love with more then just words. Watch for those signs more then the words.

Oh YES, I'm not a guy. but that happened to me. trust me most of them would do any thing to get some ???. don't let them fool you with a simple "I love you". If he really does love you, he will find another way to show it to you (in action)

It's not just guys who say it, girls say it too. the words "I love you" are the three words that most people use to get what they want. "I love you" is a tackful weapon that is easy to use on someone nieve and young. That's why you have to be careful who you believe when they say that.
