Were you one, and are now the other? Do you consider one a path to the other? Do you consider one a specific calling of some individuals in the other category?

I'm Anti-theist, and consider there no need for worship of imaginary beings who I am supposted to cultivate. These beings don't affect my life, and any rituals here on earth don't affect their life. I have tried, and I have been around long enough to know it is all bullshit. Is it so hard to live a life without a slave mentality?

I was raised with polytheistic beliefs and still have the same basic beliefs. I follow a neo-pagan path. I've never practiced the specific religion of Wicca--in fact, I had never even heard of it until about 16 years ago. As far as I know, all Wiccans are pagan (or neo-pagan) but not all neo-pagans follow the religion of Wicca. I think that we are all called to the path that we follow--whether that path is a neo-pagan one or not.

I began my path in Wicca. Over the years, and all the books, I found myself as an Eclectic Pagan with Wiccan leanings. Many pantheons, and ideas that I had studied, some that made sense to me became part of my belief system, others that didn't, I re-read just to make sure, then discarded. Wicca opened the doors to new information, or old depending how you look at it, I walked through, and kept going into as many doors as I could find.

After becoming sober I became Wiccan, then pagan, now Heathen.

I know a number of heathens that came out of general paganism and a couple Wiccans into heathenism.

I think pagan and Wiccan lines can get blurred at times.

pagan pantheistic Witch, non-Wiccan.

I explored Wicca for a few months and decided it was not the right path for me. I don't believe in deities and I couldn't wrap myself up comfortably in all the talk of gods and goddesses, which sounded an awful lot like the church teachings I had rejected years earlier. I am an independent, traditional Witch, a pagan to the extent a pagan is a pantheist, which is what I am studying and loving so much now.

A Wiccan IS a Pagan. Much like a Baptist or Lutheran is a Christian.

As I am Wiccan, I am also Pagan. But there are Pagan religions/spiritual systems other than Wicca....like Buddhism and Druidism for example.

FYI, All Wiccans are Pagans, but not all Pagans are Wiccans. I first became interested in Paganism through Wicca, but I now consider myself Eclectic. Some Pagans find Wicca to be right for them, other Pagans go down other roads, such as Asatru or Santeria.

I think of myself generally as a pagan, but more specifically as a Celtic Wiccan.

All wiccans are pagans, but NOT all pagans are wiccans.
I'm a pagan, but not wiccan.
I'm a Norse Heathen, or Asatruar.

I already answered a similar question. If you want to read a very detailed explanation, here's the link to it:

Pagan yes. Wiccan no. I'm Asatru. Pagan is avery broad term encomapssing a number of gerlgious beliefs, of which Wicca is just one. Wicca has, however had the most press and publicity (guess the rest of us need to get a press agent).
