A friend posted something not to long ago that resonated with me. I have been sort of struggling "feeling" that I had to fine tune my Beliefs. So her question, inspired me to pray and reflect.
Came across, something today while reading that made me know that I had too should release judgement, especially against myself...

"Like a bee, gathering honey from different flowers, the wise man accepts the essence of different scriptures and sees only the good in all religions"--Srimad Bhagavatam,
spiritual text of hinduism

For me, this is an inspiring thought. That even if I no longer agree with all religions that "seeing" only the good, can do nothing but bring peace to myself as well as others.

Would like to know would it possible for you to do that?
If not, why?

Please answer in a way that refers only to yourself and your beliefs that fit your life.
Thanks in advance.
Blessings

Those are wise words Angi. Thank you for sharing.

I do believe that it is wise to study other POVs ~ not necessarily to convert or change our line of thinking, although that is not a 'bad' thing ~ but to broaden our understanding of what we believe. That is a fundamental part of my spiritual practice. The more I read and study other POVs the deeper I understand what I already believe. I also tend to take a pinch from various philosophies to enhance my spiritual knowledge.

Sometimes I stumble upon a new concept in my studies and it's so worth that occasional nugget of wisdom to continue open dialog and study.

Additionally, opening myself up to learning about the beliefs of others helps me to understand them. Many social and political issues stem from religious difference and it is good for us, to say the least, to understand what motivates people.

--Srimad Bhagavatam

Love that. Thanks again. :)

As you do the passage in the journey of life, like a river flowing down from the mountains with the final destination in the oceans, you do collect a lot of good and bad: hence the need for good, effective filters, helped by good friendships (sat-sang), books, religions and guru's, apart from various other ingredients of life itself, sothat the river remains pure, good! You need to take the honey (good) from not only the flowers of religions, but also from many other forms of thoughts and expressions, in order to find refinements in life, refinements in your own thought processes and in your own methods, as you travel along! It is a lovely journey, the final destination is most probably a lovely, happy picnic spot! Happy journey, and, in context, a very happy new year!

I'm thinking the guy isn't too wise that acts like a bee because in the end he just ends up getting squashed under someones shoe. The wise man places his faith in what Christ did on the cross as payment for his sins. Then peace will come to him.

Even in reading Peter Pan, I have found bits of dharma. When we seek it out it is truly every where. There are little jewels hidden. When all the dogma and doctrine are sifted away, we are left with beautiful gems that should be enjoyed by all.

My faith in ancient times taught people to be responsible in behaviors and to others, respecting all living things in creation. Hard work lead to rewards, especially in the after life.

I don't see "ignorance" in religion as "excusable." Of all the present religons, many took from the one of the beginning molding it to suit themselves. That too, I see as ignorant. Though many tell me I am rude and bias, I am only what God says we should be. TRUTHFUL.

How does that wise man receive the forgiveness of his sins? It is great distractions from Satan, all the wise sayings and inspirations are NOT going to get your sins forgiven. It only puff one up in the mind

SEEK AFTER THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, SEEK THE RESURRECTED CHRIST JESUS

All religions have good in them and teach people they should be good. Christianity, however, is the only one that offer supernatural Power to overcome our evil desires and make us good. Christianity is thus superior to the others.

I don't know, I guess "seeing" the good isn't bad. Agreeing or condoning it is another story.
