When we sleep, Allah Taala takes hold of our soul (ruh) just like a dead person. If He Almighty returns the soul to our sleeping body, we will then wake up. Otherwise, we will turn up dead.

If your spriritual heart (qalb) is awake, you may see something from the realm of the unseen that is yet to happen. The situation may present itslef to you in dreams that are to be decoded (ta'wil) as Allah Taala wills.

The Holy Messenger said that a good dream is 1/46 of prophethood. And that when the End of Times is near (like now), the believer's (Mu'min's) dream is almost always true, or in similar wordings.

You can search for the kitab by Ibnu Sirrin on the ta'wil (interpretation of dreams).

Assalamu Alaikum sister...

I will be able to answer the first four questions. I do believe dreams can have meaning and they can be interpreted.

I have had dreams in the past that became true months later, with the dream telling me what would happen indirectly.

I have asked people to interpret some of my dreams, and some of them are right.

I would try to interpret my own dream or other's dream, but I'm not so good at it.

Take care sister. Assalamu Alaikum...

1. Dreams have meaning and can be interpreted.
2. Some of my dreams (interpretations) came true.
3. Yes. Some of the interpretations were true.
4. Yes.
5. Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said dream is 1/46th part of Wahy. Prophet Yusuf (PBUH) was endowed with great ability to interpret dream. Yusuf (PBUH)'s words in the Quran
(Surah Yusuf, Verse 101) "My Lord! You have indeed bestowed on me of the sovereignty, and taught me something of the interpretation of dreams ......." testifies to his ability in the interpretation of dreams. The words of Yusuf to father in Verses 4 and 100 in the same Surah also testify to the ability of Yusuf (PBUH) in interpretation of dreams. The interpretation of the dreams by Yusuf (PHUH) to his two jail mates is available in Verse 41 of the same Surah. The Verses 46, 47, 48, and 49 of the same Surah is the meantioning of the dream of the King to Yusuf and the interpretation of the dream by the latter which came true later.

First, let me say this:

Lying About Dreams
Prophet Muhammad (S) said, "Indeed the worst of lies is that of a person who falsely claims to have dream." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) also 'Whoever claims to have dream which he did not have, will be ordered to tie two barley grains together, which he will never be able to do; and if somebody eavesdrop on some people's conversation which they didn't want him to hear or they tried to keep away from him, then molten lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection; and whosoever makes a picture (of a being with a soul) will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and (will) be ordered to put a soul in it, which he will not be able to do." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

There are 3 types of deams!
Ru'yaa - good visions (dreams)
Hulum - bad dreams
Dreams from one's self

We can see true dreams are from Allah Ta'aala as Muhammad (S) said, "True dreams are from Allah, and bad dreams are from Shaitan." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

If you had a dream about hajj it means this: Hearing oneself congratulated on doing Hajj or Umrah indicates that it something well.

So it has nothing to do with your afterlife only Allah can tell you that after you die.

Assalamualaikom!(May peace be on You!)

The truthfulness of the dream is related to the sincerity of the dreamer. Those who have the most truthful dreams are those who are the most truthful in speech. (Muslim, 4200) Towards the end of time, hardly any dreams will be untrue. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allahbe upon him) said: “That will be because the Prophethood and its effects will be so far away in time, so the believers will be given some compensation in the form of dreams which will bring them some good news or will help them to be patient and steadfast in their faith.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) (The Holy Prophet Muhammed) as saying: "When the time draws near (when the Resurrection is near) a believer’s dream can hardly be false. And the truest vision will be of one who is himself the most truthful in speech, for the vision of a Muslim is the forty-fifth part of Prophecy, and dreams are of three types: One, a good dream which is a sort of good tidings from Allah; the evil dream which causes pain and is from Satan; and the third one is a suggestion of one’s own mind; so if any one of you sees a dream which he does not like he should stand up and offer prayer and he should not relate it to people…."

The same may be said of the miracles which appeared after the time of the Sahaabah. This did not happen during their time because they did not need them, due to their strong faith, but the people who came after them needed them (the miracles) because their faith was weak.

Dreams are of three types
Rahmaani (those that come from Allah)
Nafsaani (psychological, they come from within a person)
Shaytaani (those that come from the Shaytaan).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Dreams are of three types: a dream from Allah, a dream which causes distress and which comes from the Shaytaan, and a dream which comes from what a person thinks about when he is awake, and he sees it when he is asleep.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)

The dreams of the Prophets are wahy (revelation) for they are protected from the Shaytaan. The Ummah is agreed upon this. This is why Ibrahim set out to fulfil the command of Allah to sacrifice his son Ismaa'eel when he saw that in a dream; may peace be upon them both. The dreams of people other than the Prophets are to be examined in the light of the clear Wahy [i.e., the Qur'an and Sunnah]. If they are in accordance with the Qur'aan and Sunnah, all well and good.

yes... almost half of the dreams that i see have come true. unfortunately those were the bad ones. so yes, i strongly believe that dreams have interpretation and this is what the Prophet SAW said as well.

i ll just tell of one the dreams that came true. it was when i saw my cousin in my dream and that she was crying and wearing white clothes and that she was in the "malir" area (in the dream) in karachi (she lives in karachi). about a month or two later, she told me that she was going to the malir area with her family for some work. i just remembered this dream and told her of it and said that she should be careful while she is there. she just laughed at me and called me silly for taking it too seriously. and the next day, she told me that nothing happened, and she also told me that she was now wearing 'white clothes' just to make fun of me. but later that night she called and told me that she was extremely sick and that she had severe food poison because of something that she ate in malir. she was quite surprised about what had happened and since that day i am known as a kind of freak.

many others dreams also came true but those were regarding myself. they arent really pretty as well lol. but i hope i dont get shot in my right shoulder or something because this dream i have been seeing alot :(

Salam

Dreams come from 5 formats I have explained that well before search for this inshAllah.
1. Allah SWT everything comes from Allah - Athan came from a dream

Allah SWT has his time and his time is not your time. What you think is good for you is not always good for you and what you think is bad for you is not always bad for you.

Allah SWT has shown us all these things about dreams.
Research Syadina Yusif for these A.s. He was one of the best dream interpreters before Muhammed SAW And Isa A.s.

I believe they have a meaning. Good dreams are from God and are good..we can relate them. bad dreams are from shaytan we should forget about them.

I had two very nice dreams. one I dreamed of Prophet Muhammad(saw) actually saw him in my dream..and the day of qiyamah.
the second one I dreamed that I was at hajj and lost my sandals and doing tawaf..the following year I got married went to hajj and ended up loosing my sandals in the crowd and doing my tawaf.
That Dream did come true. and InshaAllaah my dream of seeing prophet Muhammad will come true on the day of Qiyamah.(saw).

I was really good then used to practice islam truelly..now days my iman is weak and I'm struggling.
