There may be an answer for this. I will make the assumption that motor control has a genetic basis. In this case you should blame your parents for giving you such horrible genes. What should have happened is that the genes for bad motor control should have been eliminated long ago since your ancestors should have fell off a tree/cut themselves/stabbed themselves but since this did not happen as the genes are not yet eliminated it may be up to you to remove those genes from the gene pool by mutilating yourself. On second thought, since the genes should have removed if your motor control was particularly bad and required for daily life I would say to turn off the TV and limit your distractions while cutting, unless you contain a gene which predisposes you to distractions....

Probably you yourself are to blame. Either you weren't watching what you were doing, weren't aware of where your fingers were, or you were rushing through the task.
