They are colors that make for a hearty contrast, but they don't "match". They go together if that's what you are ultimately asking, but be careful on the tones that you pick, otherwise, it will end up looking like Barney.

Those colors don't "match"...they "compliment" best thing to do is go to a paint supply store, get some swatches from the the paint chip racks, pull the shades of each color you like best, hold them up to each other until you find the shades that blend...lights with lights, darks with darks, depending on which way you wish to go. Think of things in nature with those color pallets...and Iris, a lilac tree...things like that to see if those shades go. Happy coloring!!!

Purple, green, and gold are Mardi Gras colors that work for that festive occasion but I would be more than hesitant to use them in a home as they are not particularly complementary for a home. If you want to use them in your home use them as accessorizing pieces and not the main pieces or room colors. Otherwise you will feel as if you are living in a circus atmosphere.

Depends on the shade. If it's for painting, check out Behr.com...they have a colormatch tool thing that will help you pick colors. And it's fun. :)
