It means to be diligent. Approval means one has been put to test and measures up, thus, winning approval of the person testing him. I think the word divided means to cut a straight course or correctly interpret. All of God's words are true. There are no contradictions when rightly laid out. You can't add or take away from it. Verse 16 means stay away from false empty talk. False belief produces foolish behavior as seen here on R & S.

These are some very good scriptures that we can learn a lot from.
That we should be a person doing the work of God and the only way that we can be a good workman is to read and interpret the Bible correctly by spending time studying God's Word. If we do, we won't be ashamed of our doctrines.
Also we should not hang around people who talk nonsense and waste time talking about things that do not matter or talk about about perverse things.

Rightly dividing the word of truth. Subject, Object, who, when, where, why. Not only the chapters but each vs to.
vain babblings, the Mark of confusion, which is also Satan's Mark in the forehead.
And if you have studied as directed. Could be you are a vessel fit for the masters use.
2Ti 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Songbird did an staggering interest of masking the which skill and that i enjoyed interpreting that very plenty. i think of one component all of us could desire to do is study ourselves daily and each act or component we are saying or do to make constructive we are following God's be conscious so we don't circulate off aim. it quite is significant that we pick our acquaintances wisely so we're not tempted to step over the line and fall into the snares the devil has set for us. in case you loiter around the incorrect people long sufficient, you will start up accepting issues that are incorrect and could make excuses as to why they're ok. there are a number of stuff we lust after, no longer basically sexual gratification yet how a lot of people lust after a clean motor vehicle or greater clothing or greater shoes or purses? people who artwork further and extra and forsake the assembling of the Saints so that they could desire to purchase issues they do no longer desire yet think of they could desire to have so that they could save up with others (fairly than study to stay with fundamentals and be chuffed). Our greed pulls us far off from the purity God needs us to have. Society has grow to be so materialistic that we are greater prepared on how we verify out the exterior than we are on the interior the place God says our genuine treasures lie. It does not do any reliable to call on God whilst our hearts are actually not organic and we are pursuing worldly issues each and all the time. The time to coach ourselves up is whilst we are youthful so we improve reliable behavior.

The first part says that you should work, as if you were working for God Himself.
The second part is kinda like Titus 3:9
"But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless"

On the contrary It is written (Ac 9,22) that "Saul increased much more in strength, and confounded the Jews," and that "he spoke . . . to the gentiles and disputed with the Greeks."
I answer that In disputing about the faith, two things must be observed: one on the part of the disputant; the other on the part of his hearers. On the part of the disputant, we must consider his intention. For if he were to dispute as though he had doubts about the faith, and did not hold the truth of faith for certain, and as though he intended to probe it with arguments, without doubt he would sin, as being doubtful of the faith and an unbeliever. On the other hand, it is praiseworthy to dispute about the faith in order to confute errors, or for practice. On the part of the hearers we must consider whether those who hear the disputation are instructed and firm in the faith, or simple and wavering. As to those who are well instructed and firm in the faith, there can be no danger in disputing about the faith in their presence. But as to simple-minded people, we must make a distinction; because either they are provoked and molested by unbelievers, for instance, Jews or heretics, or pagans who strive to corrupt the faith in them, or else they are not subject to provocation in this matter, as in those countries where there are not unbelievers. In the first case it is necessary to dispute in public about the faith, provided there be those who are equal and adapted to the task of confuting errors; since in this way simple people are strengthened in the faith, and unbelievers are deprived of the opportunity to deceive, while if those who ought to withstand the perverters of the truth of faith were silent, this would tend to strengthen error. Hence Gregory says (Pastor. ii, 4): "Even as a thoughtless speech gives rise to error, so does an indiscreet silence leave those in error who might have been instructed." On the other hand, in the second case it is dangerous to dispute in public about the faith, in the presence of simple people, whose faith for this very reason is more firm, that they have never heard anything differing from what they believe. Hence it is not expedient for them to hear what unbelievers have to say against the faith.

Study (Bible) to be approved by God.
No shame in studying. "dividing" probably understanding; to take apart for better comprehension.
Put aside garbage you hear from others because they will increase in their ungodliness.
