A common skin problem with cats is allergy to fleas, which causes itchy bumps, and can lead to hair loss. One of my cats had this, and lost patches of fur before I finally took her to the vet. A prescription for cortisone pills and instructions to apply mild salt solution to the wounds twice a day and the condition cleared up. Of course the cat hated the pills! But she loved the wet soaks to the wounds, and would come up to me "asking" me to do it again, after she was healed, twice a day!

He or she might have an excessive case of fleas, and he or she is trying to scratch at them. If that's not the case, he or she might have some other skin irritation. I would suggest going to the vet to be sure. Whichever the case, your vet will give you medication(s) for him or her. The scabs should heal up once the reason for itching is solved.

It could be flea bites, allergies, or a type of dermatitis. Your vet would have to examine her to determine which one. And there are medications that can be prescribed to give her some relief. But don't try to give her any human medications or apply any creams without asking your vet first. Some of our medicines are very toxic to cats.

Outside cat? Female? Might have been in a fight or a male tried to breed it.
