Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

That's a wonderful song and a wonderful message, don't you think?

So you prefer killing?
And it doesn't have to be a dream. All we have to do is just stop the violence.

No, of course to reach peace, a lot more needs to be done than just ending the war.

chocolohoma...there isn't less peace here. If there was, we wouldn't be in this damn war. Is blowing little kids up better than what happened in Pakistan?

I think it's human "bloody" nature. Any human with power & money wants more of both. So leaders use the people to get it, and everybody get stuck in wars over something other people want. We should stop, reflect & act. We should stop being used. Peace.

Nice sentiment and a nice dream but in reality that is all there is to it at this point in time/evolution. Humans are still driven as much by instinct and genetics as anything else and that is a slow process to change; we are not as violent for the most part then we wee a thousand years ago and in another thousand we may be even less so but as long as some people would force there will or way of life on you then the people who won't fight will have to either submit to it, learn to fight or find those that are willing to protect them. Not meaning to show disrespect to you and not sure of your background but the simple fact is that military people do not love war and killing. I spent twenty years in the Marines and had my share of both in Vietnam but stayed in and was involved in it more then once in my career-I never wanted to do it again but stayed because some one has to do it and if it is the right thing to do and you believe in it; then you are a moral coward not too. A world of peace and harmony would be fine with me but it takes the entire world to do that and humans are no where close to that now. If everyone in he world felt like that except one person he would be the tyrant that ruled them all. Maybe in 2,000 more years it might be a message (though probably longer and maybe never) but for the foreseeable future it is just a dream.

I may be the only one in the world, but I fail to see how that is a beautiful song! It's horrifying. It's a nihilistic limbo. When he sings the chorus, I feel like zombies are calling me to join them in the world of the soulless dead. I am a Beatles fan since 1963, but John lost me on that one. Count on me not to join you. I have a mind, a personality, and a soul, and will do my best to live with all the others that do.

Nice song, but have some issues with parts of it, religion, countries to start.

I personally can not imagine not believing in something that you are not willing to fight for. Really what type of world is that?

But world Peace, that would be great!

I don't feel that there will ever be true peace for everyone on this earth. I think someone, some group, will always be at war with each other. That is sad to say but I think also true to say.

Bless us all.

Yes, we can live in peace as soon as we disband all the police departments, sheriff departments and the FBI and Military, etc....
Think of all the tax savings we would have, and I am sure we would have everlasting peace, once we got rid of all the cops and military.

Isn't this kinda like asking "Can't we all just have enough food?" or "Can't we all just have a lot of money?" Yeah, that's what people want, but just because we want it doesn't mean there's an easy way to get it.
