It's too far to walk- it's like 15 miles away. Walking, including the stoplights and stuff would be at least a few hours. It takes me about 20 minutes to drive there.

Save your feet and take Metro! They have several bus lines that could easily get you from Compton to Downtown LA including the #55 Compton Ave, #60/760 Long Beach Blvd Or #53 Central Avenue Plus, the Blue Line light rail would do the job too! All of these lines cost only $1.25 Each way or $5 for an all day pass. Good Luck!
