No.

"But deliver us from evil."

The last petition to our Father is also included in Jesus' prayer: "I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one." (Jn 17:15)

In this petition, evil is not an abstraction, but refers to a person, Satan, the Evil One, the angel who opposes God.

The devil is the one who "throws himself across" God's plan and his work of salvation accomplished in Christ.

The Bible teaches that Satan is a fallen angel. Scripture sees in this being a fallen angel, called "Satan" or the "devil". (Cf. Jn 8:44; Rev 12:9)

Satan was at first a good angel, made by God: "The devil and the other demons were indeed created naturally good by God, but they became evil by their own doing."

Scripture speaks of a sin of these angels. (2 Pet 2:4) This "fall" consists in the free choice of these created spirits, who radically and irrevocably rejected God and his reign.

The devil "has sinned from the beginning"; he is "a liar and the father of lies." (1 Jn 3:8; Jn 8:44)

It is the irrevocable character of their choice, and not a defect in the infinite divine mercy, that makes the angels' sin unforgivable. "There is no repentance for the angels after their fall, just as there is no repentance for men after death."

Scripture witnesses to the disastrous influence of the one Jesus calls "a murderer from the beginning," who would even try to divert Jesus from the mission received from his Father. (Jn 8:44; cf. Mt 4:1-11)

"The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil." (1 Jn 3:8)

The power of Satan is, nonetheless, not infinite.

He is only a creature, powerful from the fact that he is pure spirit, but still a creature.

He cannot prevent the building up of God's reign.

With love in Christ.

Well...God and Satan are never in the same place at the same time in the Bible. I mean yeah, God is good, Satan is evil. But Jekyll was good too. Look how evil Hyde was.
We may very well be dealing with a case of theological dissociative identity disorder or a celestial multiple personality disorder. Think about it. If God is all powerful--couldn't he simply snap his fingers and destroy his archenemy? But he doesn't. Its "in his plan" and he's "working in mysterious ways." But what a strange schematic for the ultimate plan. I mean, maintaining the existence of the sole nemesis to mankind? There's obviously something deeper in this issue. Why else keep alive the very catalyst of doomsday if not to protect oneself?
Of course, we don't know the extent of this theory. Is it some psychological condition like in "Fight Club?" Or merely a test for man's moral standing?
Or maybe they just don't exist?

god is good.GOOD.the devil is EVIL.does that sound like they have anything in common?darkness is not the same as light.you need light to get rid of the darkness.therefore, you need god to resist the devil.without god, there is no good in this world.he is the source of all goodness.the devil is the exact opposite.in him there is no good.no light.no hope.just darkness.and foolishness.which is probably why so many people dont believe he exists.he knows how to make a fool of people.anybody who wont stand for something, will fall for anything.the uneducated mind can really be confusing.is it that hard to tell the truth from a lie?get a clue.and get educated.try asking some intelligent questions for once.dont think that you're teaching us anything.the only thing you're teaching us,is how to be a fool.once you get educated, maybe your questions will make some sense.but i wont even listen to your stupid theories.only a small minded person, can come up with such blasphemous garbage.think of asking a question that makes sense.a question that requires the use of your brain cells.dumb, stupid questions such as yours, dont require brain cells.they only require an empty head filled with hot air.which goes to show.there's plenty of airheads on here asking dumb questions.a ''dumb''question doesnt even deserve an intelligent response.therefore, why dont you think before you speak next time?some ''dumb ''questions, can really be offensive.not just dumb.

I believe the Devil is an allegory for the evil of mankind. The whole story of a battle in Heaven and a revolt of angels just seems too...purple.

God, and the one who is infinitely separated from God, are the same being? The Creator and one of his creations are the same? The ineffable Holy One and the Evil one are identical?

OK. I have now pondered the question, and it has answered itself.

There is nothing in this universe that isn't of God, so therefore the so-called devil-demon-evilness came from God.
