Yesterday on my home back from Pennsylvania to Ohio I seen a Pa state trooper hiding in a ditch more like a ravine he had on no parking lights or headlights?? Does anyone know if this is legal? I know in Ohio they sit in the median with either parking lights or headlights. I mean if my headlights wouldn't of caught his reflectors I would have never seen him... I was actually kinda a worried and debated on calling 911 and seeing if he needed help..Thank you for anyone who can answer this

This one is really going to depend on where you are located. I am not familiar with the laws regarding PA police, but in some locations the officer must have at least parking lights on, however in other locations there are no regulations regarding sitting on the side of the road.
If you want a more definite answer my best advice is to contact PA Highway Patrol and they can advise you further of any laws or regulations.

Traffic Enforcement officers will hide anywhere they can. If they are out in the open and the violators are able to see them from a distance away and slow down, then what is the purpose of the cop even being there? They are out there trying to keep the roads safe....... Instead of worrying about whether it is legal or not for him to hide there, be more concerned with what you are doing that is not legal.
Speed Kills!! Slow down and save some lives!!
hahahaha obviously I was throwing this comment out to the general public.. no need to get all hostile over it!! Sheesh, simmer down tiger!

yes its legal but you should have stayed around a little longer cause when I saw him I thought it was an animal trying to cross the road so I locked my 80's into 4x4 and chased him around until I realized he was a trooper thank god he got stuck other wise I would be responding from the jail.

They can hide anywhere and in any fashion. If you were concerned about his well being then bay all means call 9-1-1. They will be glad you cared.
