I am going to be renovating/remodeling much of my home (kitchen, 2 bathrooms, flooring, etc.). I was wondering if anyone has ever used Direct Buy for the supplies? I hear that you get quality products for less. Does anyone know how Direct Buy works? I would also love to hear any personal experiences or suggestions of where to get supplies!

Thank you so much!

Someone posted a similar question earlier. For what it's worth, here's what I posted....

I have never used Direct Buy but did a little research a while back. My wife and I were remodeling a bathroom so out of curiosity she contacted Direct Buy. At the time it struck me as odd how they wanted to go about it. You had to leave contact information and then they would call you to set up an appointment to vist their showroom. Also, my wife made the contact through the web and within a couple of hours she received more than one call....it just seemed a bit too agressive.

I remembered hearing less than flattering things about them so I did a little searching on the web. There had to be about a million references to what a rip-off it was. I mean page after page of poor quality, bait and switch, changing prices between order and receipt, undelivered items, prices no better than retail.....Not to mention that they use a high pressure sell on the membership ("If you don't join tonight you're banned for life, etc."). I also saw more than one reference where people felt Direct Buy had used "actors" during the open house to pretend to be other potential customers who couldn't wait to sign up.

Fees were running $3000 - $5000 so how much stuff can you buy before you recoup that cost? Admittedly, there were a few people who said it worked out okay for them but almost every posting I saw said they regretted ever getting invloved with Direct Buy and lost money on the deal.

If you are thinking about a membership, I would be extremely careful. You may want to take a look at this first:

Everything I've heard is no good! First, you have to select stuff from their sources (certain high cost brands). Second, they are pushy to get you to sign a contract. Third, You can save just as much money and more by bargain shopping. Stay away from direct buy if I were you. Or go talk to them yourself and find out how pushy they are...just don't sign that contract, walk out.

They are crooks. I will never use them.
