for instance say you wanted to move to Mexico - do you really have to apply for a ton of visas to qualify ????

you have to apply for FM2 visa and live there for 5 yrs and THEN apply for citizenship

You can't move to any country without a visa.

yes.

USA has 5 years of legal residency before applying for citizenship.
New Zealand is now also 5 years as well.
Canada has just 3 years.

Work and establish a domicile in Mexico in order to become a resident thereat.
