my 4 year old male guinea pig gets impacted at least 3 to 4 times a day, how many times is normal? i clean him out about 3 to 4 times a day but it doesnt seem to help much. he seems comfortable but i want to make sure this is normal.

Ah well, "normal" is relative. What is normal for one pig, may or may not be normal for another. Since your pig needs to be cleaned out 3-4 times per day, this is "normal" for him.

Boars do tend to develop this condition as they get up in years and once it starts, it will not go away, as I'm sure you've found out. His cleaning just becomes part of the routine care of your now special needs piggie.
