ok so anyways this boy i know always likes to hug me when he's behind me with his arms around my waist...... why do guys perfer those hugs than just a hug face to face?

Could be the i-don't-want-to-bump-into-your-boobs thing but also some guys are less confident so they come from behind. some are not as handsome so that way u dont have to look at his face and sum just dont know how to hug.

I could answer you by saying why do you think all guys prefer those hugs. After all, only one guy hugged you that way . Every body has their own preferences in things---some people like Coke ,others Pepsi. There is your answer, a matter of choice.

If he has a preference of hugging you from behind rather than face to face, perhaps he has issues with intimacy or commitment.

in a relationship it's nice because then you can give your sweety a kiss on the neck.as long as hes not grabbing anything else and if you don't like that kind of hug stamp on his toes really hard eventually he will stop those hugs or just tell him you don't like it

well guys love to feel like they are in controll. but a hug around the waist is nice. they like to know that they can touch you, and you don't mind. he is playing and sounds to me like he likes you. that is called flirting. but enjoy it just the same. guys like to touch when they want. so face to face is less touchy to them

I can't speak for anyone else but I just enjoy them more. I'm not positive why, just I fit better and there's more body contact.
Also I can smell her hair and nuzzle her neck.
That's just my thoughts on why I like to hug my girl that way..
