I am 16 and i am wondering if i will be going bald., so my dad and my uncles on his side are bald. My mom's father and all my uncles on her side have full of hair. My hair looks a lot like my grandfather's hair on my mom's side (he has full of hair). And i have a few white hairs, and my uncle on my mom side (who has full of hair) said at my age he also white hairs. So what are the odds of me going bald

Yes Baldness is a dominant gene. The rub is it is on the X chromosome. The males only have ONE X chromosome as where the Females have 2 X Chromosome. So lets paint this out. Since you are a male you could have received one of two of your mom's X genes and your father only has one X gene that he can give to you. So therefore you have a 66.7% chance of going bald like your father did. Now this is not to say that you will show balding eventually considering that males have DHT which is a horomone that men have. DHT basically blocks out all of your hair growth. Now luckily, this does not start happening until you are about middle aged or higher. It also does not occur in all males, with only about 9% not facing this problem.

Hope that i helped :)

Baldness is determined by several different genes, so there's no sure way to tell at your age. I started losing my hair in my early 30s, but my brother has a full head of hair. He's getting gray hair, but I'm not.

If you start to go bald, don't worry, don't buy weird chemicals, and don't do a combover. Shave it all off and grow a beard. You'll have to carry mace to fight off all the women who will be chasing you.

50/50 There were four surviving brothers in my father's family. Two went bald.... two have not.

Remember; it's just hair. There are drugs that keep you from loosing hair IF you start to loose hair.

If you do start to loose your hair and you are afraid that it will hinder how females "see" you; it just means you are weeding out the superficial ones from the get go.

I know "they" say that the gene for male pattern baldness comes from the mothers genes. However my mom's dad and both of her brothers were identically bald with the same exact pattern.

I would say 50/50. You could go either way. My uncle had a thick head of hair his whole life. He has 2 sons, one bald, one with hair. But my dad had a real thin spot on top, so it's hard to say.

if i remember correctly baldness runs in the females genes. So if your Mom's Dad is not bld then chances are you wont go bald. But then again its still in your genes from your Dads side. So I say dont wory about it, your young. If and when you do just shave your head. Its worked for Bruce Willis

It depends on whether your mom has the baldness gene. Since you never know with women, it's going to be 50/50 since you are certain your dad has it. Good luck...

male pattern baldness comes from the mother's side. if they all have hair then the odds that you will keep your lovely locks is high. don't sweat it! a real woman won't care if you have hair or not. my man is 24 and going bald and i think it's cute cause i love him.....don't sweat the small stuff, but i would say you're good

Well it sounds like you are pretty genetically stuck with the baldness gene. That doesn't mean that you can prevent and take steps to keep it under control as it happens.
