I have consulted with a doctor, a physiologist and a microbiologist on this question, and the following summarizes their answers:
Healthy people can have green poop if they eat a diet rich in leafy green vegetables, or if they consume large quantities of food coloring (in ice cream, cake frosting etc.).
Green poop can also be caused by excess iron in the diet, from dietary supplements, for example. If the body does not absorb all the iron consumed, the iron may stain the poop green, the color of iron (II) salts. Ordinarily, the green color may be masked by the normal brown poop color, but if digestion is thrown off by illness so that bilirubin is less concentrated in the intestine, the green color may become apparent. This can happen when a person is afflicted with diarrhea.
Green poop in sick babies may come from iron in baby formula not being properly absorbed, or by green pigments in bile salts (again, green from iron).

It is probably really green because of something you ate. Either you had a lot of lettuce or some foods that are high in iron. Eating iron will definately make your stool green, it did for me when I was taking iron supplements. Think back to the things you ate in the last 24 hours or so and see what could have caused it. This is nothing to be upset over nor do you need to call 911, just think to what you ate, see if there was anything high in iron or dark leafy greens and I'm sure you'll figure out what happened.

It will change colors depending on what you eat.
I know Blueberries will make it green.
Just think of what you had to eat in the past few days.
Don't worry about it. When it is red like blood, then get to the doctor.
And if you ate food with lots of fiber it probably really cleaned out your colon of all the toxins and that is what is making it smell.

Relax. different foods digest differently. the same thing happens to me. just watch what you eat. if it is dark and tarry looking, that is a sing of internal bleeding. depend on what you ingest the color could range from light brown to green or yellowish brown

Just adding to above answer by others about green color. It's probably just something you ate for the Christmas celebration that is different from your normal diet. If so, it should pass.

Since it's the holidays, I'm going to assume you have been eating lots of desserts with food coloring in them. That does it to my kids everytime! Just keep poopin'...it will go away!
