Go to somewhere like Best Buy. It's not necessarily cheap, but you can buy it there.
Or if you're in college, maybe your school offers it to you for free or for a discount.
EDIT -- Uhh. I don't know why everyone's getting thumbs downs. If you don't want to buy it, and don't know how to get it otherwise, then you don't deserve it.

These are seperate programs which do not come as part of the OS. Currently, the most expensive version is of course the newest, and the one which looks the best on Vista, with all its new eye candy, is Office 2007.
Now, the best way to buy is a suite, as individual programs cost nearly as much as a bundle does. In the Office 2003 version, the Office for Teacher's and Sudent's edition was the least expensive way to buy Microsoft Office. I purchased the Small Business edition and am happy with it. I now have Office 2007 Enterprise edition, but got it on a good deal from my husbands company.
I suggest you consider Open Office. It is a free suite of programs much like Office and it can handle the file formats that Office does. It is a bit different, so you would need to get use to it, but it is fully featured and strong.

Go take a look at the programs, it has a word editor, a spreadsheet application, and two or three other apps too.
You could use Open Office until you could save up for Microsoft Office if you are dead set on having Office. I prefer Microsoft Office simply because I am so use to it and have it down on usage.
Whichever option you decide, good luck and have a nice evening.

Through April, 2008, Microsoft is offering Microsoft Office 2007 at a significant discount for students. it works out to be around $60. for the ultimate edition which includes everything. is around $670 even at best buy.
requirements:
* You must hold a valid email address at a U.S. educational institution ending in .edu .
* You must be enrolled at least half-time.
here is the site

once again only students will be eligible to receive the discount. if you are not a student you have to buy it from best buy

you can buy the software online just go to google and search something like "buy microsoft powerpoint online " and there'l be an official ms site that sells it.
however its better to buy from like best buy or something because they occasionally have sales on these programs, which online there arent.

You'll have to purchase Microsoft Office software. That's expensive.
You can try to get cheaper one from Eastern European on-line sites, but you need to be very careful and cautious.
