I just turned 18 and want to get a lip piercing, probably on the right side. Some tell me it would be really cute and others tell me not to. What do you think?

This is what I look like:

I think you'd look fine with a lip piercing.
You'll be getting the piercing for yourself -- not for anyone on Y!Answers or for people you know.

If you want it, go for it. If you change your mind it's not like it is permanent and can take it out whenever you'd like.

But think about it -- does your job allow you to have facial piercings? If not there will be a problem with getting your lip pierced. If you don't have a job, are there many piercing friendly jobs in your area for when you look for one? Facial piercings cannot be hidden -- yes, you can get a quartz retainer, but that does not make them invisible and more then likely a manager at your job would notice and make you take it out. They noticed my retainer when I tried getting another lip piercing.

I think it looks really ugly, but then I'm 69 and know nothing. You are still a teenager and know everything. Keep it clean so it doesn't get infected. At least it's not as bad as a tongue stud.

Do it only if you want to never kiss a guy again!

YUCK! Most guys I know think that's the nastiest place to put a piercing. Try the nose or eyebrow.

tell me this.. do you really think punching a hole in your lip is important for you future.. do you realize that most people young and old think it is stupid.. if you seriously think that punching holes in your body is good.. I wonder why your parents didn't have it done when you were a baby.. if you want to look like a freak then go ahead.. put a clip in your lip.. and while you are at it.. why not put a bolt in your nose.. now that would be really cool.. you think?

No! You have a beautiful smile, don't ruin it with a piercing. The scar it leaves when you are tired of the fad will be disgusting and disfiguring.

I say no. I'm a guy, and I refuse to date anyone with Nose/Lip/Tongue piercings. They just look horrible =/

you're decision, i can't really see if it would look bad, you just be appealing to a different crowd plus it gets in the way, my opinion is that piercings should stay away from the mouth.
