I am taking my girlfriend to Jacksonville, Florida for a short vacation before the new year and am looking for some fun things to do on a budget. Perhaps a nice dinner cruise without having to make an extended reservation, or a winery? Any ideas?

Here is a good website to find things to do in Jacksonville. I would also go north of Jacksonville to Fernandina as well as St Augustine.

Yeah St Augustine on A1A is a nice drive. In St Augustine there are a lot of resteraunts that look out over the bay (not to $$$) there is also a kick *** ghost walk that takes you all over the city center by the water and tells you a lot of fun ghost stories of St Augustine--oldest city in America. Plus the fountain of youth is there (but the water smells of sulphur).

In JAX, there is some stuff to do out at the beach, but really for the time, $$, etc...if you have a car go out to A1A and drive to St Augustine.

Oh and there is a winery in St Augustine.

Take a half-hour drive down to St. Augustine. THAT place is cool. I lived in Jacksonville for 2 years and did everything there was to do in the first 6 months...

Well, I can give you this site, but St. Augustine has more attractions. Jacksonville has the better food...they have like casino ships and stuff
