Starr, Im sorry you sound so angry, but I was actually asking because children under age 13 are not allowed to be on here. Im assuming since you are still getting money from the Tooth Fairy that you are under that age. Relax and be a kid for God's sake! And you should really get off Y/A, you're obviously much too young.

My 5 year old lost her first tooth this past summer - very exciting. ;-)
The tooth fairy gave her a shiny new gold dollar coin for that first tooth. When the next tooth came out, she was spending the night with grandma and got 2 regular dollars, which was a bit disappointing. At 5, they seem to care more about novelty than actual dollar amount.

My son lost his third tooth today! (Top right front.) :)
I will give him $5. I don't remember what I gave him for the second tooth and for the very first tooth (lost in June '07), he got a big bottle of bubbles! He loved it so I lucked out on that one...hahaha.
Don't forget to save her little tooth. For my son's first lost tooth, I bought a jar of baby food, dumped the food, and washed out the jar really well. I put the tooth in it and labeled it with the date the tooth fell out. Just a thought.
PS - Little kids don't have 32 teeth. That's how many most adults have if they keep their wisdom teeth. Little ones have 20 deciduous teeth.

the going rate is 5 dollars. I had to ask my dentist when my daughter lost her first tooth.. And alot of her friends lost teeth and id ask them what did the tooth fairy leave you, and they answered with 5 dollars.

I always do a dollar..except once she let us do the old string with a doorknob thing and I didn't think she would do it, so I gave her $2. LOL I wouldn't suggest doing much more cause then you have to realize that there are a lot of teeth and you gotta be able to keep up with giving them $5 all the time. Once my daughter lost 4 in one week...if I had been giving her $5 she would have all my money..lol...jk

I'd say $1.00 per tooth, but since it's her first, you could do a little more (no more then $5) Like someone else said....Start what you plan to keep doing!!! There are lots of little teeth in there!
And congrats to your daughter for losing her first tooth!!!!

I gave my son 3 gold dollars for his first tooth (along with a homemade certificate) and 1 gold dollar for his second tooth, and the future teeth.

I'd say $5 per tooth. 32 teeth over the course of say 12 years (or how ever many years it is for kids to loose all their baby teeth) is not a whole lot.

when my son lost his first tooth, tooth fairy gave him 10 bucks.....but for the 2nd and 3rd ones, he didn't want to give it to tooth fairy, he would rather keep them himself.......(he was actually worried that tooth fairy would steal it eventhough he didn't leave it under the pillow....

I agree with $1.00. Find a cute box or can and start saving her teeth. I saved all mine in a little sterlilng silver box.
Finally threw them out after I was married!
