my full name is gregory but on the contract i put greg. Is this illegal

I bet I know why you are asking this - You think that you can get out of your enlistment contract since you put a shortened name on the form.

I don't think so buddy ! Lol, you are not geting outa this so easy. Imagine if every credit card application I filled out I mispelled my own name and then claimed I didn't owe the money becasue it wasn't my correct name...

Worst case, at some point during processing you will be ASKED if you enlisted fraudulently. Ask this question then and they will 'fix' the contract. More likely, they will say 'Greg' qualifies as your legal signature.

It won't be considered a fraudulent enlistment, it is just a paperwork error. Fraudulent enlistment is stuff like saying you have no criminal record, them not catching it right away, and it coming out after you join.

Not neccessarily - but I would get it corrected as it causes a lot of confusion & the military records departments already confuse things without help...

If you are trying to get out of the contract - it won't work as a reason.

if not that would be fraud
