They will probably have you fill out forms and ask you about your pain along with a physical examination of your pain. Depending on what the doctor will do they may or may not give you more pain meds. A pain management doctor will typically help you find other treatments to help manage your pain which may include pan medication. I would talk to the doctor about the medication. Good luck!

Don't expect to much in the form of a script from the Doctor before he can asses the problems you have. They are not a free clinic for drugs. This is if they're good and, honest. If you have some sort of past history and, you gave the doctor time to get your records so he can asses you, then there's the chance he can give you something to tide you over but, don't count on it.
Doctors have to answer to the federal government for all pain meds and, some can be in hot water over to many dispenses, they're all very careful about it. After eight to fifteen years of study and not counting the practice, they have to be.
They are also very territorial about what they give to whom, maybe your last doctor thought you needed one type of drug, this doctor may think you need something else.
Also, if your there for the drug, they'll spot you in a minute and give you the "bums rush" out the door.

Pain management is for treating pain when all other methods have failed. The doctor can't keep you on pain killers forever. So, more than likely the doctor will do an x-ray of the pain site to see just what the problem is. Then more than likely he will recommend an injection of a steroid into the area of pain. I know it sounds painful, but it's really not that bad. It's not the worst pain you're going to experience in life. It is mildly uncomfortable, and you may be sore for that day and possibly the next. But it's worth it in the long run. The steroid follows the inflammation and reduces it so you are virtually pain free. With good results, your injection could last for up to a year!

The doctor gives you a script then you fill it, but if you are in that much pain, how much is pain management going to help without a better script for something else. Some doctors prescribe prevacid, check it out, talk to doctor! good luck!

you will no longer have faith it yet I had an epidural at present. it quite is my third in view that April. I truthfully have a torn disc at L-4 L-5 touching the nerve working down my staggering leg. the 1st appointment will in simple terms be an interview and to establish appointments for ct test. Have the epidural. it supply you with alleviation for a at the same time as. while you're careful it or they'll final some months. they typically do 2 or 3 epidurals spaced 2 weeks aside. Your basically different option is surgical technique. The numbing photos injury the worst. you will no longer sense the huge shot no longer often in any respect. it quite is not that undesirable. i do no longer attempt to sugar coat something in case you be attentive to what I advise. it quite is going to likely be properly worth it. i've got faith your discomfort. I desire we could desire to communicate yet it quite is the ideal i could desire to do. reliable success.
